Midhath Mahir is articling with our firm for 2017-2018, completing his accreditation to practice law in Canada.
Originally from the Maldives, Midhath has a particular passion for human rights, administrative law, and legal areas that touch upon issues of public interest. He is also keen on politics, governance and global matters from an international law perspective.
Midhath completed his Bachelor of Laws at the International Islamic University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and thereupon practiced civil litigation at the Attorney General’s Office of the Maldives. After completing a Master of Laws in International and Human Rights Law from Brunel University in the UK, Midhath assumed the role of director over the legal and policy division of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives. In his free time, Midhath can be found volunteering with not-for profit organizations. His personal interests range from travelling, reading and running along the sea-wall to spending quality time with family, friends and his beloved dog Lilly.
